Jenny MoltzMeet our Program Manager, Jenny Moltz. She joined our team in August and has been a fantastic addition to the Deming family. Jenny received her Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media Broadcast and her Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University (ASU.) With a passion for music and people, she decided to go into radio and video production. While at ASU, she worked at the college radio station and also had an internship at CBS Radio in Cleveland, Ohio. While in school, she also really admired her professors and their journey. It was her dream to work in higher education in some capacity after working in the multimedia industry.

Job Opportunities

After a job opportunity brought her to Steamboat Springs for a winter, Jenny knew that she wanted to live in Colorado. But first, she moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where she managed a top-notch recording studio, Echo Mountain Recording Studios. Echo Mountain had clients ranging from The Avett Brothers to Widespread Panic. Although she had no experience in actual music recording at the time, she began interning and learning from the amazing team that made Echo Mountain. Eventually, she was promoted to Studio Manager when the position became available. From booking bands to staffing recording sessions and managing engineers, Jenny loved working in the entrepreneurial environment at Echo Mountain.

After a few years, she transitioned to working in higher education. Jenny enrolled full-time in the Higher Education Administration Master's program while working at ASU. Upon completion of her master’s degree, she landed a position at eTown Hall as the Events and Production Manager. While at eTown, Jenny booked and managed the event hall and production crew. Jenny has always enjoyed working with entrepreneurs and supporting the growth of their many ventures.

The Deming Center

Jenny eventually had the opportunity to come to CU Boulder. When she saw a position open to work at the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, she was ecstatic.

“It brought together all of the things that I loved about working in a small entrepreneurial setting, combined with higher education. I love working with students and helping prepare them for real-world problems and experience. I wish I had a fraction of the formal education that the Deming Center and Leeds School of Business provides to our students.”

With the shift to remote learning last spring and this fall semester, the Deming Center is continuing our online programming with the following series: Startups & Sandwiches, Now What?, and the Demystifying Entrepreneurship Workshop Series. Check out the event section on our website or social media to stay updated. Jenny is focused on increasing awareness of the Deming Center and the entrepreneurial education and programming that we provide. Even if you don’t want to start your own business, we can offer a toolkit that helps you grow.
