Acting Dean Yonca Ertimur

Building on a Tradition of Excellence in Business Education

YoncaWhen I was first approached about serving as acting dean at Leeds, one of the reasons I was excited to accept is the opportunity to share the excitement coming out of our school.

In my role as a professor and senior associate dean or research, I was privileged to see the successes of my colleagues and our students up close. Now, sharing all the great news coming out of Leeds is a core part of my job—one I’m thrilled to start.

Leeds is driving innovation that creates positive impact on both a local and international scale, from our top-ranked academic programs that prepare students to transform the future or global business, to outstanding research published by some of the most productive faculty in the world.

Over the last several years, Leeds has also made tremendous progress on several key intiatives including an interdisciplinary partnership between business and engineering, working to end the gender gap and create parity across all CU business programs, and ensuring all business graduates are prepared for long-term career success. There remain important strategic priorities for us as we reimagine what business of tomorrow will look like. And as we look to that future, Leeds is prepared to tackle emerging challenges and search for new opportunities, such as affordability and access to higher education.

I said earlier that sharing Leeds’ successes is one of the responsibilities I’m most excited about. But what has truly energized me about Leeds—in my past roles and in this new one—is the opportunity to serve a vibrant community of students, alumni, friends, faculty and staff that are united in their enthusiasm for Leeds. I welcome the opportunity to engage with you as we continue the great work that has made Leeds a top business school.

Please stay in touch. And, go Buffs!

Sincerely,
Yonca Ertimur, Ph.D., Acting Dean
