Welcome to the Business Research Division

The Business Research Division conducts economic impact studies and customized research projects that assist companies, associations, nonprofits and government agencies with making sound business and policy decisions.

The Center is known statewide for its annual production of the Colorado Business Economic Outlook, which provides a forecast of the state’s economy by sector. Among many other research reports, surveys and studies, the Center also publishes a quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index, which gauges Colorado business leaders’ opinions about the economy.

The 55th Annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum

Held on December 9, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt Denver. The Business Research Division’s annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook, now in its 55th year, provides professionals across nearly every industry in the state with a forecast of Colorado’s economy by sector. Each December, the Center presents its forecast for the following year during its annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum.

Quarterly Business & Economic Indicators

The Quarterly Business & Economic Indicators, produced by the Business Research Division on behalf of the Colorado Secretary of State, reports on the correlations between various business filing data and economic metrics.

Leeds Business Confidence Index

This quarterly index gauges Colorado business leaders’ opinions about economic trends and how their industry will perform in the coming quarter. The index captures expectations for the national economy, state economy, industry sales, profits, hiring plans, and capital expenditures.
