Sen Yan

Sen Yan is a Ph.D. Candidate in Information Systems at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder (2021–2026 expected), co-advised by Kai R. Larsen and David Dobolyi. He earned his B.S. in Financial Management (minor in Computer Science) from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

His research focuses on agentic AI, large language models, psychometric methodology, and generative AI governance. He develops AI-enabled systems to enhance theory-driven behavioral research and construct validity, combining design science, machine learning, and natural language processing methods.

His work has been published in Decision Support Systems and presented at leading conferences, including ICIS, INFORMS Annual Meeting, INFORMS WDS, ECIS, DESRIST, and WITS. His OntoLLM project was selected as a Best Student Paper Finalist at INFORMS WDS (2025). He has received the Summer Hart Fellowship (2022, 2023) and serves as a reviewer for ICIS and WITS.

Before and during his Ph.D., he has taught Python Programming and Business Analytics at CU Boulder.
