Leeds School of Business Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards

On October 25, nearly 200 Leeds School of Business alumni and friends gathered at the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder to honor the recipients of this year’s Leeds School of Business Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards.

Richard Wobbekind, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs, emceed the evening and welcomed guests, including members of many of the Leeds School’s boards, previous award winners, emeriti and current faculty members, select students, and family and friends of the award recipients. Each recipient was introduced by a friend, mentor, or former student, and awards were presented by Dean David L. Ikenberry.

The Leeds School of Business is proud to celebrate and thank the extraordinary people who epitomize exceptional achievements in business and ongoing service to the School, serving as role models for the next generation of business leaders.

The 2013 Distinguished Alumni and Service Award recipients are:

Ambassador David B. Bolen, Legacy Award
Special recognition for a lifetime of honorable and exceptional achievements as an alumnus of the Leeds School of Business.

John and Patrice Callies, Service Award
For sustained commitment, support, and exceptional service to the Leeds School of Business, its students, faculty, and the community.

EKS&H, Corporate Partner Service Award
In recognition of sustained commitment, support, and exceptional service to the Leeds School of Business, the University of Colorado Boulder, and the community.

Thomas Stix Guggenheim Family, Distinguished Alumni Lifetime Service Award
For a lifetime of support and philanthropy to the Leeds School of Business, and for exceptional achievement in the business community.

Laura J. Kornish, Professor of Marketing, William H. Baughn Faculty Service Award
For exceptional service to the Leeds School of Business, and for consistent and ongoing commitment to its students, faculty, and programs.

Edward C. Mitchell, Jr., Alumni Achievement Award
In recognition of exceptional achievement in the business community.

Gordon Trafton, Alumni Service Award
For sustained commitment, support, and exceptional service to the Leeds School of Business, its students, faculty, and the community.
