Emily Edwards is an Instructor of Marketing at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her courses in various areas of the marketing discipline utilize applied theoretical principles and practical industry application to prepare future-graduates for successful careers in the marketing arena. Emily is passionate about deriving and activating meaningful consumer insights through strong new product development – a practice developed in her 10-year CPG marketing career progression, and honed through work with various consulting clients.
Most-recently, Emily served as a Senior Brand Manager with Goody® Hair Products where she led a 12-member cross-functional team in a brand extension into electrical hair appliances ($21MM incremental sales), and launched a series of comfort-focused fashion hair accessories for the Ouchless® brand ($5MM incremental sales).
During this time, Emily conducted and distilled strategic implications for 50 consumer research studies with over 7,000 consumers. These tests ranged from price sensitivity analysis to ethnographic early-stage needs exploration; from new product concept testing to in-home usage tests.
As a Category Analyst and Assistant Product Manager at Atlanta-based Newell Rubbermaid, Emily crafted a strong appreciation for data-driven decision making and utilized analytical frameworks to drive product placement choices.
Emily continues to augment these industry experiences with active consulting projects in both the non-profit, and for-profit sectors for clients in a range of industries from automotive to home care – from health and beauty to the arts.
Emily earned an MBA from the University of Colorado Denver (2013) and graduated summa cum laude with a BA in business administration (Marketing emphasis) from Loyola University New Orleans (2004). She and her husband, Tommy Pollack, live in Golden, Colorado at the base of North Table Mountain.
