Beyond these opportunities, there are scholarships available to students outside of the university offered by various real estate organizations. The Cohagen Platts Memorial Scholarship is for a Leeds School of Business student who is pursuing the Real Estate Certificate, has financial need, at least a 2.5 GPA, and has demonstrated leadership through involvement in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities

ICSC Foundation, Michael P.Kercheval Undergraduate Real Estate Award
Award: $2,000

The International Council of Shopping Center Foundation established this award to recognize and provide financial assistance to students who are interested in pursuing retail real estate as a career. Scholarships for Families of ICSC Members
Award: $2,500-$5,000 Towards tuition, fees, books and supplies; all expenses paid trip to ICSC RECon global convention or a regional ICSC conference, automatically paired with industry mentor and free ICSC student membership.

Eligibility: U.S. citizen or permanent resident.  Canadian citizen or permanent resident for Canadian award. Individuals in the following relationship with an ICSC member (membership for at least one year at the time of application): spouse, same or opposite sex domestic partner, child, grandchild, and sibling.  This includes persons in a “step” relationship. Full-time sophomore, junior, senior enrolled at an accredited university in the fall. For sophomores and juniors, the award is renewable for an additional year provided renewal criteria are met. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Demonstrated interest in the retail real estate industry or related field. Preference given to those with financial need.

NAIOP is committed to the next generation of CRE leadership and increasing diversity in commercial real estate. We are proud to continue our scholarship program for students pursuing a degree which will lead to a career in the commercial real estate industry. Preference will be given to students who have been traditionally under-represented in the commercial real estate field.

Eligibility: Recipients of the NAIOP Diversity Scholarship will be selected based on the following: Academic achievement; Involvement in NAIOP either at university level or at the chapter level; Commitment to a career in commercial real estate; Recommendation letter from CRE instructor or professor; Financial need. 

Pension Real Estate Association Scholarship Program

In keeping with our educational mission, the Pension Real Estate Association awards scholarships on an annual basis to promising students studying real estate at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These scholarships are awarded through our own scholarship program and financial need is considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who demonstrate no need will be eligible to receive the minimum award. PREA is also a longstanding corporate donor to the Robert A. Toigo Foundation and their fellowships for minority and women students.

The Mildred C. (Millie) Hanson, SIOR Memorial Fund, which was established to honor and support women in commercial real estate, will grant a $4,000 scholarship to an outstanding junior or senior undergraduate female student enrolled in an accredited real estate program at a college or university in the United States or Canada.

Land Institute Etkin Johnson Student Scholarship Program (Colorado students only)

The ULI Colorado Student Scholarship Program provides 10 selected student applicants with a one year ULI membership and engages the students in various leadership opportunities throughout the course of their membership year.
