The Business of Sports Program is a two-month, intensive program offered by the Leeds School of Business. The program is a 9-credit “boot camp” for students and recent graduates who are seriously interested in pursuing careers in the sports and recreation industry.
The BOS Program will be held from June 9th to July 25th, 2025, and the 3 credit Maymester prerequisite will be held from May 12th to May 30th, 2025.
Students will learn about what it is like to work in various divisions of the sports business world. Industry practitioners walk students through day-to-day operations of these departments and explain what it takes to get into these positions. The following divisions will be examined and integrated with industry-specific topics and industry guest speakers:
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Sports Analytics
- Sports Facility and Event Management
- Sports Finance
- Sports Law
- Sports Marketing and Sales
- Sports Sponsorship
- Ticket Sales
- Social Media Marketing
In addition, students will conduct extensive research on a project developed by one of our contributing partners. They will work in-depth with a research professional to cultivate research on a chosen topic by the industry, working in real-time to help solve problems faced by organizations in the professional world.
