Leeds School of Business and the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility (CESR) partners with MBArk, Naturally Boulder and the New Hope Network to present an MBA-level executive education program for and by the natural foods industry. Now in its second year, the Food Industry Executive Leadership Development (FIELD) certificate program is designed for the next generation of leaders in the natural foods and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries. The program features a unique format combining theory and practical application, taught by Leeds world-class faculty and leading natural products practitioners, including current and former natural foods CEOs.

Top executives (directors, VPs, SVPs, and C-suite) have the opportunity to delve into the logistics of the natural products business through MBA-level coursework. According to Brian Lewandowski, associate director of Leeds’ Business Research Division, “The diversity of business instruction covers the topics of strategy, sales, forecasting, financial modeling, ethics, data analytics, market research, negotiations, organizational behavior, and others—all customized to the food industry. The industry practitioners provide real-world experiences, speaking from people working in the trenches.”

During the weeklong intensive, Lewandowski is leading a session on Macroeconomics of the Natural Foods Industry. He’s described the program as a “phenomenal opportunity to network with classmates representing companies from around the world.” Participants have the benefit of being in Boulder—an entrepreneurial hub and what many consider to be the epicenter of the natural products industry. Here, they can gain a first-hand perspective of the industry’s one-of-a-kind culture of entrepreneurship, purpose-beyond-profit and triple-bottom-line growth.
