Understanding the difference between MBA Programs can be confusing for prospective graduate students. Today, MBA programs are being delivered in a vareity of manners including in-person, remote and a hybrid of both or residencies in a nearly think-tank style experience.

To clarify the differences between the MBA programs at the Leeds we have created our MBA Program comparision chart and MBA Program Comparison video. In the video Nate Wright, assistant director of recruiting & admissions, explains how each MBA program differs in delivery and how that meets the needs of our students - all while working towards the same Master's in Business Administration degree.

At Leeds, all of our MBA programs are cohort-based and completed in 24 months:

  • Full-Time MBA – immersive experience with daytime in-person courses and internship
  • Evening MBA – two nights a week of in-person courses
  • Hybrid MBA – Asynchronous remote + in-person Saturday courses
  • Executive MBA - Asynchronous remote + 6 intensive one-week in-person residencies with international residency

Hello, my name is Nate Wright, I am an assistant director of recruiting and admissions in the Graduate Programs Office at the Leeds School of Business.

If you're thinking about an MBA, we have four different methods for delivering the MBA program.

We have a full-time two-year MBA program designed for those who want an immersive experience to network, join clubs, enter competitions and truly reinvent their careers. Full-time students will work with the Career Management team to develop a career stragety, find the right internship, and ultimately land in that great post-grad full-time position.

We also have three MBA programs designed for working professionals who want to pursue an MBA while continuing to work. These programs also offer competition of an MBA degree in only two years:

Students in the Evening MBA program attend class in-person two evenings each week, either Mon/Tue or Tue/Thursday. Core course will be 6:30pm to 9:15pm, with variances during the second summer and second-year electives. With the Evening MBA Program you will learn in a cohort-based format with classmates coming from different functional areas and industries.

Second, we have the Hybrid MBA which offers the same curriculum as our Evening MBA but is delivered in a format that offers the flexibility of remote coursework during the work week and a cohort experience with classroom instruction usually one Saturday per month.

Third, we have the Executive MBA, which is designed for working professionals who are current leaders in their industry. Candidates will have a minimum of 8 years of professional work experience with a desire to build a strong network. The program consists of asynchronous remote coursework and in-person one-week residencies, one in the fall in the Colorado Mountains and two in the spring in Boulder.

If you're considering an MBA program here with Leeds School of Business, we are happy to meet with you one on one to help you find the right fit for your personal needs and professional goals. Go Buffs!
