Breaking into your dream industry can often feel like a daunting mountain to climb, especially if your background doesn’t fit the conventional mold. For me, an accounting major with no formal finance or computer science training, entering the world of trading and quantitative finance seemed like an uphill battle. Yet, through a combination of self-learning, strategic skill development, and perseverance, I turned what felt like an improbable goal into a tangible reality.

It’s that time of the year again! Finals are coming up soon, which also means… winter break is coming up soon too! While it’s important to take the time to relax, get re-charged for the spring semester, and watch your favorite CU Buffs win some football and basketball games, it’s also a great time to prepare for those pesky job applications!

Homecoming 2024 was a motivational and inspiring weekend filled with intriguing research, important conversations, and most of all, CU pride!

The Leeds GOLD Board was able to participate in various Leeds Homecoming events, giving members the chance to meet other board members, learn about upcoming initiatives, and serve as a voice on empowering the new generation of recent Leeds graduates.

Community and involvement are two areas of life that I continue to appreciate more and more as I become further removed from my time at school. When I left high school, my only regret was not getting as involved as my friends or pursuing as many opportunities. I vowed to change that when I entered college, recognizing that the real value of involvement isn’t just in the moment but in what comes after — your legacy, the mark you leave, and the connections that tend to stand the test of time.

The end of the school year is exciting and full of possibilities. Summer waits for you expectantly around the corner, coaxing you as you tiptoe towards the finish line. The only thing between you and the end of the year: finals.

Mentorship isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a transformative experience that can propel college students and recent graduates to new heights of success and personal growth.

As an undergraduate student who hasn’t gone through the application process for internships or jobs quite yet, it can be quite scary to navigate the process.
