Clare Wang’s research examines the roles that legal, regulatory, and financial reporting regimes play in capital markets and corporate activities. She also studies emerging forms of disclosure such as corporate accountability reporting and social media platforms. Her research has been published in each of the field’s leading journals including the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and The Accounting Review.

Clare’s previous academic appointments include Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Iowa (2017-2019) and Assistant Professor of Accounting at Northwestern University (2011-2017).

Prior to devoting herself to academic research, Clare worked for Goldman Sachs in the investment banking division. She received both her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Clare currently teaches the introductory managerial accounting course (BCOR 2303) at Leeds. She has also taught intermediate financial accounting courses in MBA as well as undergraduate programs.
