College of Engineering & Applied Science Employee Recognition Award
The Employee Recognition Award recognizes outstanding classified and professional exempt staff. The award is rotated between the various departments and programs of the College on a monthly basis so that each unit (or clusters of small units) has an opportunity to honor a staff member once each academic year. The award amount is $500 (funding provided by the nominating unit).

College of Engineering & Applied Science, Outstanding Staff Award
The College of Engineering Outstanding Staff Award recognizes a staff member who has made outstanding contributions that benefit the students, staff and faculty of a CEAS department, program, or the college itself. As many as three staff may be selected for this honor each year. The award is presented annually and the winner receives a stipend of $2,000.

The Student Support Professional Awards recognize college staff who assist our undergraduate and graduate students throughout their educational journeys. Eligible staff include undergraduate or graduate program administrators; academic advisors for majors and minors; academic success staff; career advisors; academic coaches; scholarship advisors; BOLD Center staff; ProReady staff; Engineering Connections staff; Integrated Teaching & Learning Program staff; Colorado Space Grant Consortium staff; dean’s office, department or program staff; and many more roles that support students.

College of Engineering & Applied Science, Staff Incentive Award
The Staff Incentive Award recognizes classified and exempt professional staff employees’ special accomplishments or contributions to the college, such as innovate ideas, creativity and exemplary performance while undertaking special projects or tasks. The form of the award is a cash award that would generally not exceed $100 in value, though occasionally awards up to $500 in value may be made for particularly substantial service. Funding is provided by the nominating unit.

The Commitment to Excellence Award was established by the college to retain excellent staff by creating a supportive work environment for its employees. Recipients of this award shall have reached a five-year anniversary of continuous service as a professional exempt or classified staff member of the college with an appointment of at least 50% time.

  • Spencer Chuck, a CEAE senior, was awarded two of the 2022-23 American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Scholarships for juniors, seniors and master’s students, including a $2,000 AISC Education Foundation Scholarship and a $3,000 AISC/Rocky Mountain Steel Construction Association Scholarship.

  • Environmental engineering student Priscilla Jimenez was named the Fall 2019 CEAS Outstanding Graduate for Service.
  • A team of environmental engineering students—Brandon DaSilva, Powell Hinson, Rachel Knobbs, Lin Ye and Ryan Smith—won the Water Environment Federation National Design Competition at the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC), the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition.
  • Casie Venable, a civil engineering PhD student, was received a Shelter and Settlements Fellowship from the USAID Office of Foreign Disaster Assistantship and Habitat for Humanity International.
