With a vision for philanthropy as a transformative force in society, Ian is committed to advancing models of fundraising that strengthen institutions, expand opportunity, and create enduring public value for generations to come. In August 2025, Ian joined the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder as Associate Director of Development, where he works alongside donors to build philanthropic partnerships that advance the school’s mission and reimagine the role of philanthropy in higher education. He sees fundraising as a catalyst for innovation, access, and resilience, helping institutions thrive in rapidly changing environments while ensuring that donors’ legacies reflect their deepest values.

A native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Ian’s perspective has been shaped by the vibrant cultural and educational landscape of the Southwest. He began his career at the Santa Fe Community College Foundation, where he experienced firsthand how philanthropy strengthens communities. Since then, he has held leadership roles at the University of New Mexico Foundation and the University of Denver, where he managed major gift portfolios, guided strategic fundraising initiatives, and strengthened alumni engagement through signature initiatives.

Ian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude, from New Mexico Highlands University and is completing his Master of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico, expected December 2025. His graduate research focuses on the strategic resilience of higher education nonprofits, exploring how institutions adapt to disruption and chart sustainable futures.

Looking ahead, Ian is determined to ensure that philanthropy continues to open doors, transform lives, and build resilient institutions that meet the challenges of tomorrow with courage, creativity, and vision.
