Mini Law School: What is Legal Education?
Wednesdays, February 12, 2025 - March 4, 2025
Interested in the law? Ever been told you argue like a lawyer and wondered what that meant? Participated in Mini Law School in the past, and wondered whether there was a way to learn more without committing to a full three-year J.D. degree? Work in a field that interacts with the law, like compliance, and want to know more about legal education? Then this program is for you.
This free, four-week, brand new program in Spring 2025 will feature panels and discussions exploring what is legal education (both JD and alternative legal degrees, including the MSL and LLM), what does legal education look like on a day to day basis, what kind of careers do people pursue after legal education, and if you are interested pursuing legal education, how do you start?
Open to all, this program is designed for anyone curious about legal education, including college and highschool students, those who work in legal-adjacent fields like compliance, pre-law advisors, and lifelong learners. All participants will be able to apply for free to the University of Colorado Law School's JD, LLM, or MSL programs this admissions cycle. There will be no homework, tests, or required reading, so you can fully enjoy and focus on learning more about whether pursuing legal education is for you!
We anticipate that individuals will be able to participate in this program in three ways: (1) live from approximately 6pm to 7:30pm MT, in Boulder at the University of Colorado Law School's Wolf Law building; (2) livestreaming the lecture anywhere in the country, on the night of the lecture; or (3) on-demand at any time of your choosing, beginning approximately one day after the live lecture. All participants can watch any lectures they miss live by watching a recording at their convenience at a later date.
