Public Service

As a public institution, public service is a central aspect of our culture.

Our courses, extracurricular offerings, committed faculty members, and engaged community provide intellectual, social, and career support that helps students cultivate and maintain a strong commitment to public service whatever their career paths.

Public Service Committee

Our Public Service Committee is composed of faculty, administrators, and students.

The committee coordinates Colorado Law's range of public service opportunities and seeks opportunities for continuing growth in academic, extracurricular, and post-graduate public service.

A Note from Professor Melissa Hart

As a public law school, Colorado Law takes seriously its special obligation to serve the public. Students come to Colorado Law because of this culture of public service and because of our strong academic programs in fields like environmental law, civil rights law, juvenile and family law, and criminal law

In each of these fields, we have an amazing network of public interest alumni who are excited about working with our faculty to train the coming generation of public service lawyers. As the director of the White Center, I have had the opportunity to work with students committed to serving the public through constitutional education, and it has been a great joy for me to see how this commitment to service during law school translates to a lifetime commitment to using our law degrees in the service of our communities.
