Guidance for Temporary All-Remote Classes

Dear students,

Earlier today, you received a message from Chancellor DiStefano about the temporary change to our instructional mode to all remote for a minimum of two weeks, effective with the start of classes on Wednesday morning. In-person teaching at CU Boulder has proved to be safe, with no known instances of COVID-19 infection traced to classroom transmission. But we are taking this action in concert with Boulder County and the City of Boulder in our collective effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

For everyone’s benefit, I want to highlight the following:

  • All law classes will be taught remotely for the two weeks following Wednesday, September 23. The professors for classes that are all in-person or in hybrid mode will be communicating with you about how the class will shift to all-remote mode, if they haven’t already.
  • Students may continue to access the building to study individually and to engage in research activities, such as work on a journal. The law library will remain partially open to law students by reservation only.
    • Please review the library's guidelines for accessing the library, hours, entrance requirements, and more. Information on how students can reserve individual study spaces in the building and library is available on MyLaw.
    • Students who enter the building will continue to do so using their Buff OneCard. 
    • For those coming to campus, be sure to complete the daily health questionnaire.
  • Composite photos will take place this Tuesday and Wednesday as planned.

As stated by the chancellor, the self-quarantine, with its exceptions, remains in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
