The law school's annual commencement recognition ceremony takes place in May each year. It is open to December, May, and August graduates. The date and time of the law school’s ceremony are determined by a campus commencement committee.
Our 2023 commencement ceremony will take place at Macky Auditorium on Friday, May 12 at Noon, students will process in at 11:50 am.

Tickets: Students will receive 6 tickets for guests at this event. Additionally, there will be a guest list generated from your RSVPs for the reception at Wolf Law.
Attire: Most graduates choose to wear a coat and tie, dress, or some equivalent thereof under their regalia. Wear shoes that will be comfortable for the one-mile procession and for standing on grass. May weather is unpredictable, so you may want to bring an umbrella.
Food: Drinks and light appetizers will be served at the reception. Please bring your ID if you plan on drinking alcohol.
Water: Please remember to keep hydrated during the event and remind your guests (especially those from out of town!). Multiple water stations will be provided at the reception, and water bottles will be permitted at the ceremony.

Parking: Parking is free at Wolf Law, however space is limited so you may want to consider carpooling. Guests are encouraged to take the bus transportation provided from Wolf Law to the ceremony. ADA parking is available for those who have an ADA Parking Placard. Spaces are limited.

Campus Commencement: Law students do not typically participate in the CU Boulder campus commencement ceremony at Folsom Field.
Diplomas: Diplomas will be mailed in July and are 16" x 14'.
Reception: The reception is held at the Wolf Law Building immediately following the ceremony. A valid ID is required for guests who plan to consume alcohol.
Parking Information: All campus parking lots will be open on a “space available” basis for public parking during commencement. Parking on-campus, including at parking meters and pay station lots, is FREE. Guests are encouraged to park near the Wolf Law Building in lot 470 and 402. If lots 470 and 402 are full, any other nearby lot is available for parking.
Charter Buses: Charter buses are available to transport guests between Macky Auditorium and the Wolf Law Building. Charter buses prior to the ceremony run from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. and pick-up guests on the west side of the Wolf Law Building. Charter buses after the ceremony will run from 1:15 - 2:30 p.m. and pick-up guests in front of Macky Auditorium.

CU Boulder is committed to making its physical campus and digital life accessible to everyone.
Guests requiring ADA accommodations will be able to enter Macky Auditorium at 10:50 a.m. through the ADA entrance, which is the west-most door in the gallery (south side of Macky). Wheelchair seating is available upon advance request - please email lawevents@colorado.edu. When emailing your request, please indicate that a wheelchair space is needed as well as companion seats, if applicable.
State-issued disability parking placards are required for use of the accessible parking spaces. Guests attending the reception are encouraged to park at the Wolf Law Building and take the charter buses to Macky. All Buff Buses are ADA compliant.
Any guests with accessibility needs who do not plan to attend the reception may arrange alternative parking at Macky Auditorium by emailing lawevents@colorado.edu.
