Reciprocity

Colorado Law students and alumni can access career development services at law schools in other areas. Our Career Development Office grants reciprocal services to students and alumni of those ABA-accredited/NALP member law schools that accord reciprocal privileges to our students and alumni.

Colorado Law students seeking reciprocity

A Colorado Law student or alum wishing to tap into the career development resources of another law school should first review the reciprocity policies of schools they are interested in, and then contact Annie Wills who will make the request on their behalf. If reciprocity is granted, students and alumni are expected to honor the reciprocity policy of the host school.

Non-Colorado Law students seeking reciprocity

  • Colorado Law grants reciprocity only to students and graduates of ABA-accredited/NALP member law schools that allow Colorado Law students and alumni to use their career development facilities.
  • Reciprocity requests are granted on a one-to-one basis. Colorado Law receives many more reciprocity requests than we send out and we may implement a temporary freeze until a balance is achieved. We also reserve the right to limit reciprocity grants to schools located in areas of mutual interest to our students and alumni.
  • Reciprocal privileges last for two months from the date of correspondence in which reciprocal privileges are affirmatively extended, or until August 1, whichever comes first.
  • Reciprocity requests must come from the law school's career services office and should be sent via email to Annie Wills. The letter requesting reciprocity should include the student's name, email address, and class year. The letter should also reflect agreement by the requesting law school that their school's career services office will offer reciprocity to Colorado Law students and graduates.
  • Please be aware that there is a blackout period from August 1 to November 1 where no reciprocity requests will be granted. Please note that all reciprocity grants between June 1 and July 31 will end on August 1.
  • Please allow one to two weeks for reciprocity requests to be processed.

Services available if reciprocity is granted

  • Guest access to online job postings for two months through our Symplicity system. 
  • Access to career-search related books, directories, and handouts that can be found in our CDO's Resource Library.

Guest accounts are "browse-only." As such, guests cannot upload documents to the system, nor can they participate in on-campus interviews, job fairs, or mock interviews. In addition, services such as career counseling, resume review, and cover letter review are NOT available to guests. When responding to notices found in our Symplicity system, guests are required to let employers know that they found the job listing through a reciprocal agreement with the University of Colorado Law School.

Subscriptions

Colorado Law offers 6-month guest subscriptions to CDOnline at the rate of $60 for six months. Paid subscriptions are not subject to our reciprocity blackout period. Please note that guest subscriptions are also "browse-only" and do not include participation in on-campus interviews, job fairs, or mock interviews. Guest account holders will not be able to upload documents to the system.

To subscribe to CDOnline, mail a check payable to the "University of Colorado" along with a letter of intent including what law school you went to/are going to, your proposed or past graduation date, and your email address to:

When responding to notices found in our Symplicity system, guests are required to let employers know that they found the job listing through a paid subscription to the University of Colorado Law School’s job database.
