Todd Burnham is the Founder and CEO of Burnham Law, a #1 best-selling author, expert speaker, law school professor, and business strategist consumed with helping you leverage your life.
Todd grew up on the South Side of Syracuse before relocating to Fayetteville, New York, where he picked up lacrosse. A member of two national champion Hobart College lacrosse teams and a two-time NCAA All-American, he earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Hobart College and his J.D. from Albany Law School.

In 2009, Todd founded Burnham Law and scaled it from a solo practice into a 35+ attorney family law and civil litigation firm with seven offices across Colorado and Arizona. The firm's model is built on multi-attorney teams matched to case complexity, transparent hourly billing, and an agentic-first operating philosophy: AI powers the back-end workflows, while humans own every client-facing touchpoint. Today, Todd focuses on firm strategy, technology, and expansion as founder and strategic advisor. His core belief: systems create the efficiency — culture makes it sustainable.
LEGAL INDUSTRY THOUGHT AND ACTION LEADER
Todd is the author of Comeback and The Law Firm Playbook, and teaches Law Practice Management as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Law School. He serves on the Colorado Bar Association's AI and Innovation Task Force, where his work centers on the future of law firm ownership. He co-hosts Athletes at Law with Phil McCarthy — a podcast at the intersection of sports, adversity, and building things that last — available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP
Todd serves on the executive board of directors for current and former Denver Broncos players' nonprofit organizations focused on underserved and underprivileged youth. He previously served two years on the executive board of the Boulder Interdisciplinary Committee, a nonprofit of professionals supporting and educating those who work across the family law spectrum.
Burnham Law prides itself on deep community involvement, including a cause campaign with the CU Buffs benefiting SPAN (Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence), along with sponsorships of local events and scholarships for those in need.
