James Juo

James Juo is an intellectual property attorney with Thomas P. Howard, LLC, in Louisville, Colorado, where he works on intellectual property matters including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. In addition to prosecuting patents and trademarks, he has litigated patents, trademarks, copyrights, cybersquatting, and trade secrets. He began his career as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, but his current practice three decades later now focuses more on trademarks. In addition to having written law review articles on patents, trademarks, and copyrights; he has given presentations on IP topics at bar association meetings and symposiums. James was the President of the Colorado IP Inn of Court for the 2023 term. The Colorado IP Inn of Court holds monthly meetings where attorneys, judges, and law students mingle and socialize. In addition to mentoring younger lawyers, the Colorado IP Inn seeks to promote diversity and outreach within the intellectual property community in Colorado. As part of its community outreach, the Inn cooperates with the Mi Casa Resource Center which connects low-income inventors with volunteer patent representation. James received his J.D. from George Washington University, and his B.S.E.E. from Clarkson University.
