Judge Timothy O'Hara

Hon. Timothy P. O'Hara was sworn in as a United States Magistrate Judge in the District of Colorado on October 15, 2024. Prior to that he was an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the District of Colorado, where he represented indigent individuals accused of federal crimes. Previously, he worked as a Cook County Public Defender and as a civil litigator in Chicago. He is a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) and has lectured extensively in many areas of trial practice and criminal law, including jury selection, detention hearings, and supervised release. He received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago where he was selected as a Philip H. Corboy Fellow. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston College.
