Florida lawmakers look ready to accept a congressional map that would eliminate districts now held by two of the state’s Black U.S. House members, add four seats likely to go Republican, and potentially spark a new federal court challenge to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) vetoed a map drawn by lawmakers to make room for a new district added by reapportionment after the 2020 Census.
