Alumni

Law Graduates of the Last Decade (Law GOLD), which began in 2011, is an alumni network for recent graduates active in all fields of law or business. The network reflects Colorado Law’s committed to supporting alumni throughout their careers.  By focusing on professional development opportunities, while also offering social and community service activities, Colorado Law will ensure the success of its alumni in fulfilling and challenging careers.  

Graduates from the year of graduation until the 10th calendar year out of school will benefit from customized continuing educational opportunities, professional and career guidance, or a way to stay in touch with other Colorado Law alums. For only $10 per year, Law GOLD members will receive:

• Free CLEs targeted to new lawyers.
• Networking opportunities with other professional organizations, both legal and non-legal.
• Social and community service activities.

Colorado Law Alumni Women get together regularly to network and connect.  Join fellow Colorado Law women alumni.  The first successful happy hour was held on November 13, 2012 at Katie Mullens in Denver.

Over the last 15 years, over 60 JD/MBA students graduated from Colorado Law.  To further our commitment to connecting these students with mentors and career opportunities, each semester since the fall of 2011 the law school hosts a reception for JD/MBA students and alumni to network.  The annual “What I Wish I Knew” event highlights topics transactional attorneys have lamented they wish they had known earlier in their careers. 

Fall JD/MBA Event Highlights:

• which courses to take in law school
• where and how to network
• how to learn about business and future clients
• how to position yourself for a transactional career

In this program, transactional attorneys and JD’s who have used their degrees flexibly outside of the practice of law talk about their careers and field students questions in small group and large group settings. Engagement with our alumni and the legal community is one of our top priorities, and as such, we have established a Law Firm Ambassador Program to stay connected and communicate most effectively with you. The role of the Law Firm Ambassador is two-fold:

• Spread the word to colleagues within your firm about exciting events, speakers, and professional development opportunities offered by Colorado Law. As an Ambassador, one of your responsibilities is to share that information more widely with your fellow alumni and colleagues at your firm.
• Lead Law Firm Challenge efforts within your firm. A new tradition, Colorado Law is organizing a Law Firm Challenge, which is a campaign to drive 100% giving participation among Colorado Law alumni. The goal of the Challenge is to foster pride and camaraderie among its alumni.
