Lila Docampo Stirts joined Colorado Law in November 2012 as the front desk administrative assistant in the Dean’s office. She became a faculty coordinator in 2015 and in 2016 was selected by the former law school dean, S. James Anaya, to be his executive assistant. Lila previously worked at CU Boulder from June 1985 to March 1993 in the former Academic Media Services (AMS) department as the office manager and assistant to the director. During those years at AMS, she was invited to participate in the CU Fellows Program and became a Fellow in 1991. Lila also earned a Master’s Degree from the CU School of Journalism in December 1992.

Lila is a Cuban-American who grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and she is fluent in Spanish. She has over 40 years of experience as an administrative professional at several organizations, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in New Orleans, Louisiana; the former Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans; and, the Boulder Valley School District where she held the positions of Talented and Gifted Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator.

Over the years, Lila has been awarded several awards at Colorado Law, such as the Professionalism Award, the Excellence in Service Award, the Team Player Award, and the Unsung Hero Award to name a few. She was recently accepted to join the CU University Perspectives Program for 2024-2025, a leadership program for staff members on the Boulder campus. Lila is a member of the Adelante staff and faculty affinity group and is actively involved in helping to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the law school. Her hobbies are photography and cooking, and she enjoys hiking, bicycling, snowshoeing, and attending live music performances.
