The Colorado Bar Exam is a 2-day test with three sections:
- The Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) is a 6-hour multiple-choice test with 200 questions, divided into a 3-hour morning session and a 3-hour afternoon session. Subjects tested include: Contracts, Real Property, Criminal Law, Torts, Evidence, and Constitutional Law.
- The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) consists of two 90-minute questions. Questions test skills commonly used by lawyers practicing law competently, including, but not limited to: Legal Analysis, Fact Analysis, Awareness of Professional Responsibility, Problem Solving, Research, and Writing.
- The Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) consists of eight 30-minute essays. Substantive subjects that may be tested include: Business Associations (Agency & Partnerships; Corporations and LLC’s), Conflict of Laws, Family Law, Federal Civil Procedure, Trusts & Estates (Wills, Trusts & Future Interests), Uniform Commercial Code (Secured Transactions; Commercial Paper), plus all Multistate bar subjects.
