AV Troubleshooting - Audio

1) Make sure the volume knob on the control panel is turned up all the way. The light will turn red but this is okay. The system isn't at maximum volume until the red light is flashing.

2) Go to the audio settings on your device. Make sure "Extron" is chosen as the output/speaker.

3) If you are using HDMI or MiniDP, don't plug in the audio cable that's attached to the VGA cord. Only use that when using VGA.

4) Make sure the volume on your device is turned up as well.

1) If you are using HDMI or MiniDP, make sure you are not using the audio cable that's attached to the VGA cord. HDMI & MiniDP have audio capabilities built in already.

2) If you are using VGA, make sure the audio cable is plugged into the headphone jack, not the microphone jack.

3) Go to the sound settings on your laptop and select "Extron" as audio output

4) If the above doesn't work, use a different connection if possible. Wireless Display (Windows) and Airplay (Apple) typically work well.

5) If you cannot switch connections, or if it still isn't working, restart your device.

6) If the audio still isn't coming through the speakers, please contact Law IT.

1) If you are using wireless display/airplay, switch to a cable connection if possible

2) If you are unable to switch, it is still lagging after you've switched, or you started with HDMI/VGA/MiniDP in the first place, restart your laptop.

This is typically caused by the mic being turned up too high. This can happen even if you are not using it. Hold the "down" arrow button on the control panel.

1) Make sure it is on - press the grey button on the front of the microphone. The green light should turn on.

2) The mic volume is controlled by the 2 arrow buttons on the control panel under the "AV Mute" button.
