Seminar Brings Students to the Heart of a "Water War"

Every year, Colorado Law students in the Advanced Natural Resources Law Seminar focus their studies on a particular watershed of the United States, including a 9-day field trip over spring break. This year, Professor Charles Wilkinson led seminar students to the Klamath River Basin, a watershed located in southern Oregon and northern California with the largest scale dam removal effort in U.S. history and the heart of a potential "water war."

Colorado Law Ranks 8th in State and Local Clerkships in U.S. News Best Law Schools Report

With the class of 2011, Colorado Law continued its strong tradition of placing graduates into judicial clerkships, ranking 8th in state and local clerkships in the newly released U.S. News & World Report Best Law Schools Report. Including judicial fellows, 38 members of the class of 2011 went into post-graduate clerkships. While eight graduates went to federal courts, 30 went to state and local courts–19 in state-level appellate and courts of last resort, and 11 with local courts–representing 18.8 percent of the employed members of the class.

White Center Takes High School Students to Washington for Moot Court Competition

Before University of Colorado Law School students began visiting her classroom last fall, Crystal Perez, a ninth grade student at York International School in Thornton, had never been anywhere in the United States outside of Colorado and had no interest in the law. Just eight months later, Perez had earned a trip to Washington, D.C., to compete against high school students from across the country in the National Marshall-Brennan Moot Court Competition.
