Bachelor of Arts in Women & Gender Studies
Academic Plan & Requirements
In addition to the general requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences, students must complete a minimum of 33 credit hours with a minimum of 24 upper-division credit hours. The degree program offers two concentration areas: one in women and gender studies, and one in queer and trans studies.
And additional degree options for women and gender studies students:
- Undergraduate Certificate in Global Gender & Sexuality Studies: The certificate is designed for students who wish to understand, analyze and respond to these dramatic global transformations and their impact on women and gender relations, complementing students’ majors and interests and preparing them for graduate studies and employment.
- Undergraduate Certificate in LGBTQ Studies: Through the certificate program and the guidance of faculty advisors, students are given an opportunity to integrate a wide variety of courses offered in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences to extend and deepen their knowledge and understanding of societies and cultures, and to relate that understanding to lived experience.
