Minor in Italian

Our students become well-rounded critical thinkers who understand the language, history, culture and literary traditions of Italy, and they go on to enjoy careers in publishing, government, fashion, the arts, international business, banking and education.

The minor in Italian provides students with a basic understanding of the language as well as the history, culture and literary traditions of Italy and other countries where Italian is spoken. We offer students a variety of courses, covering topics from Italian cinema to conversation and composition.

Academic Plan & Requirements

To earn a minor in Italian, students must complete a minimum of 20 credit hours in Italian language and literature courses, including a total of 9 upper-division credit hours. The minor is open to all undergraduate students at CU Boulder, regardless of college or school.
