Minor in Computer Engineering

Our students gain a hands-on education that prepares them for successful careers in the computer industry, cybersecurity, embedded systems, the power and renewable energy industry, the biomedical industry, aerospace, or academia.

The minor in computer engineering provides training to broaden the skills of students majoring in science, mathematics or other engineering disciplines. Students learn the fundamentals of computer engineering, including programming, computer architecture and data science. Our students are able to further their knowledge within the field of engineering and then apply their education to real-world situations.

Academic Plan & Requirements

The minor in computer engineering is open to undergraduate students at CU Boulder, except those earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical and computer engineering. To earn the minor, students must complete a minimum of 19 credit hours through a mix of required courses and electives in an area of emphasis.
