The undergraduate certificate in actuarial studies and quantitative finance is designed to provide the foundation for a lifetime of analytical problem-solving. This program is a joint certificate between the College of Arts and Sciences and the Leeds School of Business.

Academic Plan & Requirements

The undergraduate certificate in actuarial studies and quantitative finance is open to students majoring in any subject. However, the program has extensive course requirements that align most closely with students majoring in business and finance, mathematics, applied mathematics and economics.

The program offers two tracks:

  • Actuarial studies track: Students obtain the expertise in mathematics, economics and finance necessary to become an actuary. 
  • Quantitative finance track: Students become prepared for financial and economics analyst positions that require outstanding quantitative skills.
