Secondary Payload Adapter Concerned with Eliminating Mass and Optimizing Design (SPACEMOD)
Description: The goal of the Secondary Payload Adapter Concerned with Eliminating Mass and Optimizing Design (SPACEMOD) is to design an optimized Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) ring for the United Launch Alliance (ULA). Previously, ESPA rings have been required to support a primary payload. By removing this requirement, the SPACEMOD project will redesign the ESPA ring optimizing for mass while maintaining standard ESPA port compatibility for six payloads.
