Bio

Hi, my name is Gianna! I am a proud first-generation graduate that fell in love with education, which explains why I am still here! I am a 4th generation Colorado native - I am happy that I get to continue to make an impact in my home state. I enjoy staying connected with my community and getting involved whenever possible! I have two dogs that enjoy getting out and exploring the beautiful Colorado landscape with our 300+ days of sunshine.

Favorite Spot Around CU Campus

My favorite spot on campus is Los Seis de Boulder Memorial. The sculpture honors six student activists involved in the Chicano Movement that gave their lives in pursuit of expanding opportunities for BIPOC students on Boulder's campus. The sculpture is a physical landmark that holds space for the individuals’ families, and greater community that were impacted. The memorial is also a physical representation of how the students and the greater community can come together for lasting change!

Best Part About Your Job

As a first-generation student, I would not be where I am had I not had some amazingly supportive individuals that understood how to interact with higher education. As such, I am incredibly honored that I am able to continue the cycle and connect with students and their support systems to help them gain understanding in this process. Everyone deserves the opportunity to interact with education for as long as they want, and I am excited to continue to support students on their path to discovery.
