Minor in Sustainability Engineering

Our students become problem-solving engineers who use their knowledge and experience to support environmentally-conscious engineering practices.

The undergraduate minor in sustainability engineering is open to all undergraduate students in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The minor explores cross-disciplinary applications, including environmental engineering design, climate science and business policies, preparing students for careers across the civil, environmental and architectural engineering space.

Academic Plan & Requirements

To earn the minor in sustainability engineering, students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours. 

Required courses include:

  • Introduction to Global Sustainability
  • Sustainability in Action

Students also take three electives from the following disciplines:

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering
  • Environmental Science
  • Economics, Business and Policy
