Position Purpose/Summary

This position is responsible for assisting with construction documents, rendering and research on design projects within the Engineering department. This position reports to the Director, Engineering, Denver

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participation in the development of design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, and client specifications.
  • Prepares working drawings from sketches and design specifications.
  • Preparation of presentations and materials for clients.
  • Participate in project design meetings to experience how multi-disciplinary teams collaborate on project design and delivery.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings; visit construction sites on projects.
  • Participate in site surveys to gather field data.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Code and mathematical knowledge: Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws. Work requires advanced math skills, special relationship abilities, and the ability to understand abstract principles behind math and physics.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps; AutoCAD, 3D CADD, Revit, SketchUp, Graphic Software: InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Pursuant of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an ABET program, preferably Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering
