Construction Intern - Project Management

Trammell Crow Residential seeks a talented Project Management intern to support the construction project team during the overall design and construction of a project.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction and shop drawings for constructability, conflicts, or other details related to construction.
  • Assist project manager and superintendent with guiding meetings and issuing detailed meeting minutes with action items.
  • Assist or manage design, construction and/or close-out on assigned projects.
  • Assist in review and preparation of project schedules and change orders.
  • Review drawings, budgets, schedules and other project related matters with jobsite superintendent and project manager.
  • Assist with LEED documentation and enforcement, including assisting with test documentation.
  • Report current cost projections to supervisor and assist with other cost projections.
  • Negotiate and draft subcontracts for project manager’s review.
  • Assist in ensuring necessary permits are obtained in a timely fashion for the project.
  • Assist project manager and superintendent by monitoring, reviewing and controlling project costs to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established goals.
  • Work to optimize team effectiveness and help coordinate the project team.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture or related field preferred.
  • Previous construction experience preferred, specifically in commercial or industrial design or construction with project management experience.
  • Knowledge of the design-build process and ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication
  • Team-oriented, shows ownership of assigned tasks; works well independently and collaborates effectively with other team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Bluebeam and Procore experience preferred
