Denis Muthike is an assistant research professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is also the associate faculty director of the Global Engineering Residential Academic Program hosted by the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering & Resilience. He earned his PhD in environmental studies from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023. He is the recipient of the NASA SERVIR Individual Excellence Award, The Mortenson Center's Global Engineering & Resilience Outstanding Professional Award and a mentorship recognition from the Hult Prize Foundation. Muthike's research is primarily based in eastern and southern Africa and is broadly focused on improving climate resilience programming.
