The environmental engineering program focuses on the fundamental and applied understanding of the processes which govern natural and engineered treatment systems and the effects that they have on human and ecosystem health. The research areas covered within the program include water and waste water treatment, fate and transport of organic contaminants, energy and resource recovery, air quality, sustainability, engineering education and engineering for developing communities. The program offers both MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering.
