Study in Italy!
AREN Global Intensive - Energy Systems for the Built Environment
This global intensive course, a collaboration between CU Boulder, Politecnico di Milano, and the University of Brescia, focuses on district-scale energy concepts and modeling. Taking place in Lecco, Italy, near Lake Como, from May 25 for 12 days, students will explore urban-scale building energy analysis using platforms like URBANopt™ and REopt™ to assess the advantages of interactive building and energy resource designs. The course encourages international collaboration by pairing U.S. and Italian students to enhance learning through diverse educational and cultural perspectives.

Study Abroad! First-year AREN and CVEN students
There’s a study abroad program through ISA in Valencia, Spain , that’s perfect for fall of year two in civil and architectural engineering plans. Students can stay on track by taking thermodynamics, physics 2 + lab, calculus 3, and statics (all taught in English), along with a Spanish class at any level for HSS credit. If you’re interested, talk to your advisor! The application deadline for Fall 2025 is March 1.
