As an Engineer-in-Training I, you will provide entry-level pavement design and materials design/construction support for the unit. You will perform engineering work tasks, both independently and as a team, to complete pavement and subgrade designs, review project plans, and provide materials plan requirements and specifications (which you develop) to project teams. You will use standardized procedures, policies, methodologies to perform Pavement Design and Materials Support but will focus on constant improvement. When situations occur where no formal document guidance is available, you will use intuition, judgement, creativity and the assistance of the lead worker/Professional Engineer and other team members to develop solutions. You will develop your skills under the guidance of a lead worker / licensed engineer in order to eventually become a Professional Engineer.
