Morrison Hershfield’s Integrated Engineering Design group is currently looking for a Structural Designer/Inspector INTERN student in our Arvada CO office to assist with a number of upcoming projects.
Upon a successful completion of the upcoming INTERN term, this will also guarantee a similar INTERN opportunity with MH for Summer 2021 (May – August 2021).
This is an exciting opportunity to get experience within a widely recognized engineering consulting firm.
Responsibilities:
- Assists structural engineers with the design and analysis of structures
- Assists in preparing and reviewing written reports and drawings
- Assists in CAD drafting of structural sketches
- Completes site visits to perform inspections and take measurements
- Evaluates conditions and report on noted maintenance issues
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an engineering degree or diploma program, entering second or third year
- Valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle or ability to drive a rental vehicle
- Interested in inspecting steel/concrete structures and telecommunications/electrical infrastructure
- Enjoy working at heights (e.g., experience with rock climbing an asset)
- Physically fit and enjoy working outdoors
- Enjoy travelling to remote areas of the country
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc) is an asset
- Quick learner with an attention to detail
