In the Engineering Connections Life Design Lab, you will use the Design Thinking process to customize a college experience that best aligns with who you are and what you hope to get from college. In a collaborative environment you’ll explore your own unique interests and create plans to achieve your goals. 

On your way to class, grab a donut and say hi to Dean Keith Molenaar, the college’s leader.

Come see all of the clubs and organizations you can join as an engineering student! Each attending organization will host a booth with existing members who will share what they do.

The world awaits CU’s engineering and applied science students, but it’s crucial you plan early to study abroad! There are numerous programs available during summer and in your sophomore year. Check out these resources and study abroad highlights:

• Explore engineers abroad options by major and term
• Peruse pre-approved courses
• Earn your entire Engineering Management or Entrepreneurship minor in Lisbon, Portugal in fall 2024
• Consider a Herbst global program in May 2024, where you’ll earn three upper-division engineering ethics and society (ENES) credits:
  • Florence: Art & Politics (begins on-campus in January, travel in May)
  • Voices of Vienna (Maymester)
  • Culture Wars in Rome (Maymester)

Join us for our first academic success workshop of the semester! Hosted by a professional staff member and current engineering students, this workshop will focus on strategies, techniques and processes for how to get and stay organized for your semester courses to reach your goals.

Monday, Sept. 11, 6-7:30 p.m., Will Vill North 181A/B 
Chat sessions give current engineering students the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of upper-division engineering students on certain topics in a casual setting. For the first session, we will be focusing on demystifying college exams. Pizza will be provided!

Tuesday, Sept. 12. 5-6 p.m., Will Vill North, Room 160
All in This Together: Engage in lively, fun conversations and activities about the big challenges every student faces in the first year – and positive, creative ways to address them. Featuring the actors of the CU Playback Theatre Ensemble. Come with friends or make new ones here as we strategize for success together.

Join us for a simulated exam experience to prepare yourself for your first round of exams. No registration necessary! First come, first served.  

Thursday, Sept. 14. 4:30-5:30 p.m., virtual
Learn effective and efficient ways to learn material based on brain-based learning strategies.

Sessions with our professional coaches are offered both in-person and remotely, and may cover themes like time management, goal-setting and establishing good study habits. 

BOLD tutoring services are free and available to all CU Engineering students. They offer in-person drop-in tutoring and appointment-based tutoring in calculus, physics, computer science and more.
