Thursday, October 7, 2–6 p.m.

Celebrate the museum’s reopening with special programming every hour, including take and make projects, conversations with artists and curators, and a dance performance by VisKosity at 5:30 p.m.

All day:

Scavenger hunt - Grab a scavenger hunt from the front desk and journey through the museum! All keen-eyed visitors who complete them will receive a small prize at the front desk.

Visit with exhibiting artist Kate Petley and curators Sandra Firmin and Hope Saska to learn about three exhibitions currently on view at the CU Art Museum.

2pm: Study Center - A peek at the collection: Please join us in our Study Center to view staff favorites.

3pm: Follow the folding instructions and create a paper sculpture using a photograph by exhibiting artist Kate Petley. This Take-and Make connects to her current solo exhibition Staring into the Fire

4pm: Operation Tournament - Put your nerves of steel to the test in this speed tournament of the classic board game Operation. Prizes will be given to the fastest and most accurate operation surgeons.

5:30: Performance by VisKosity Dance Co. To accompany the exhibition Tim Whiten: Tools of Conveyance, the CU Art Museum invited VisKosity Dance Co, a Boulder-based dance collective founded in 2019 by artistic collaborators Keith Haynes and Vivian Kim, to choreograph and perform an original dance. Inspired by Whiten’s interest in domestic activities and childhood play, Haynes and Kim present a meditation on the meanings and memories of home.
