Women have played an important, though largely unrecognized, role in the visual arts of the American West. Taking as a touchstone the current CUAM exhibition, "Pioneers: Women Artists in Boulder, 1898-1950" on view through February 4, 2017, this panel discussion considers the myriad contributions of women artists to the region's cultural life.

Speakers include:
Kirk Ambrose, Professor and Chair, Department of Art and Art History, CU Boulder; Stan Cuba, Associate Curator, Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art; Thomas Smith, Curator of Western American Art and Director of the Petrie Institute of Western American Art, Denver Art Museum; Deb Wadsworth, collector.
