Text that reads "Night of the Sharkive"

On Thursday, April 27, 2017, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and University of Colorado Art Museum joined together to host a once-in-a-lifetime event at the Boulder Jewish Community Center celebrating the life’s work of Bud and Barbara Shark: the Sharkive. The evening supported the University of Colorado Art Museum’s effort to acquire the Sharkive, bringing over 2,000 items and prints to the museum and allowing unprecedented access to its riches to students, faculty, and the community.

The event began with creative cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction of Shark’s Ink prints in the lobby of the Boulder Jewish Community Center. Following the close of the silent auction, guests were ushered to Levin Hall and served a farm-fresh family-style dinner by the renowned chefs of Big Red F Restaurant Group. After dinner, guests enjoyed live music and dancing with music by Chris Daniels and the Kings.
