Pendulum New Music students

Welcome to Pendulum New Music at the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music!

Pendulum is a concert series-meets-forum for the creation and performance of new and original works by student composers, improvisers, performers and collaborators from across the College of Music, as well as a space to celebrate works by living composers from outside the CU Boulder community. Pendulum values a broad aesthetic range of sound-based art that is inclusive of all genres and manners of music making, ranging from concert music to songwriting, electroacoustic to jazz ... and beyond. We strive to contribute to our broader communities, both local and national, through our art and conversations.

Pendulum has welcomed many guests over the years, including Ursula Oppens, Nina Young, Alarm Will Sound, Bang on a Can All Stars, Eighth Blackbird, HOCKET, ~Nois and annual appearances by the Boulder Altitude Directive and the college’s Wind Symphony. Concerts are staged in Grusin Music Hall with special events in the ATLAS B2 Center for Media, Art and Performance, and other venues.

Student composers and performers work together with individual coachings, and also get professional multicam video and audio recordings of all their works.
