Choral performance
Welcome to CU choirs!

Welcome to choirs at the University of Colorado College of Music! CU choirs perform contemporary and historical choral literature for mixed and voice-specific ensembles. Choirs include student singers from across the campus community, welcoming all students, regardless of their major.

An audition is required for all who wish to enroll in a CU Boulder choir; auditions will be held in person (or virtually if needed).

There are three parts to the choir audition:

  1. Sing a solo (folk song, art song, aria). If you have not prepared a vocal solo, you may sing "Amazing Grace" or "My Country, 'Tis of Thee."
  2. For sight-reading, we will provide one simple exercise.
  3. We'll also conduct a brief interview to say hello and get to know you a bit better!

You may audition with or without a mask. We will provide a pianist, so please bring your music.

If you cannot find a time to audition, please make an appointment via email at cuchoirs@gmail.com. Contact Gregory Gentry at cuchoirs@gmail.com if you have questions.
