K&A Construction is currently accepting internship applicants for both office and field positions. K&A is a smaller but quickly growing company, specializing in carpentry work. Our workload is primarily residential decks, and framing as a subcontractor
(both commercial and residential). A potential intern at our company would have a more hands on and varied experience compared to interning at a large general contracting firm. Opportunities are available for both summer work and long term employment.
Position type: Paid, Hourly
Office position duties and requirements:
– Prepare deck permit drawing sets on sketch up (sketch up proficiency
required)
– Interpret and organize architectural drawings for commercial bids
– Help with material acquisition
– Scheduling and client relations
– Marketing and Social media
Field position duties and requirements:
– Assist carpenters in various aspects of framing and deck building
– Perform apprentice level carpentry tasks
– Read and interpret architectural plans and shop drawings
– Maintain job site
– Material handling
