What is RAM?

RAM is an informal, grass-roots organization developed to facilitate networking, communication, and knowledge transfer by and between CU Boulder Research Administrators. Learn more about RAM.


Who can join RAM?

Membership is open to all CU Research Administrators, which includes:

  • Any department staff that have some responsibility for any aspect of sponsored research
  • All interested faculty and staff including those in central offices, departments, and research institutes

Join the RAM List Serve

Email the RAM List Serve: resadmin@lists.colorado.edu
The RAM List Serve is a resource for getting answers to questions from your research administration peers at CU Boulder. The List Serve also provides meeting notifications and other announcements related to research administration.

  1. Open a browser and enter http://lists.colorado.edu into the URL bar.
  2. Enter your CULoginName (IdentikeyUsername) and IdentiKey password into the corresponding fields in the top right window, then click Login.
  3. Search for and select the RAM list: resadmin
  4. Click Subscribe in the left sidebar.
  5. You will now be subscribed to the list, and an alert will appear with the message, subscribe: action completed.

  4. Click Unsubscribe in the left sidebar.
  5. You will now be unsubscribed from the list, and an alert will appear with the message, signoff: action completed.

What does RAM do?

RAM's primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Holding RAM Meetings - discussion oriented monthly meetings which are:
    • Facilitated group discussions by RAM members utilizing the knowledge and experience within departments and institutes to stimulate discussion, discover new methods and provide educational opportunities for all those interested
    • Presentations by campus experts to speak on topics relevant to RAM, which contain a discussion component
  • Providing a forum for connecting those who would like informal mentoring and networking opportunities
  • Providing an e-mail list serve fostering a collegial community of research administrators

RAM, as a volunteer organization, is not a source for official information and guidance, rather a channel to official information and a source of informal discussion.
